GIS DAY - City of Riverside

The City of Riverside celebrates GIS Day on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. The City’s Innovation team, along with other City departments, will be showcasing geographic information system (GIS) technology in it's use for data analysis, visualization, gaining insights into better decision support and cost- savings and efficiency. This includes solutions in the areas including mobile map-based field survey methods for utility infrastructure repair and replacement assessment; sustainability and homeless response efforts, planning and public works divisions responding to affordable housing, livability factors including bike lands and sidewalk improvements; improved transit services, street tree and community garden grant funding efforts; and the Mayor’s office Homeless Response initiative.
GIS Day, first observed in 1999, showcases the explosion of geospatial technology, and shows how geography and the real-world applications of GIS are making a difference in society. It's a chance for organizations to share their accomplishments and inspire others to discover and use GIS.
