Come celebrate Inland Counties Legal Services, Inc. (ICLS) 60th Anniversary Gala on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Riverside Convention Center, 3637 5th Street, Riverside CA 92501, from 6-9pm. ICLS is a federally-funded legal aid agency serving low-income residents of the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties) for over 60 years. The agency started in downtown Riverside by volunteer lawyers, has evolved and expanded services first to Riverside County and then San Bernardino County. The agency was renamed Inland Counties Legal Services when the Legal Services Corporation, a congressionally-funded agency was created in 1974. LSC was born out the Legal Services Program, part of the Office of Economic Opportunity. in 1964 during the "War on Poverty".
ICLS serves the entire 27,000+ square miles of the Inland Empire from the Los Angeles, Orange, and Kern Counties lines to the Arizona and Nevada borders. It operates offices in Riverside (Executive and Regional) as well as regional offices in San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga (relocating to Ontario in October 2019), Indio and Victorville with a legal and administrative of over 100 including lawyers, paralegal advocates, and legal support staff. The agency has legal practices in the following specialties: Intake/Outreach; Consumer (Bankruptcy, Debt, Senior Financial Abuse, and Taxation); Education; Family Law and Domestic Violence; Healthcare; Housing; Public Benefits; Immigration; and Systemic/Impact Litigation. ICLS serves low-income qualified residents with specializations in Senior and Veteran's services.
