Join Inlandia and Riverside Public Library at Artswalk on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 6:30 PM, for a conversation about the First Peoples of our region, “On Native Homelands - Caretakers of the Place We Call Riverside.”
Have you ever wondered about the First Peoples who lived in the IE? Are you curious about why land acknowledgments matter so much? Join Dr. Frances Borella, professor of anthropology at Mt. San Antonio College, along with Cassandra Celeste Contreras (Nahua), Julián Angel Ibañez Mandujano (Yoeme/Yaqui), and Jamie Rocha (Tribal Council member for the Gabrielino-Shoshone Nation of Southern California) for a conversation about the original and current caretakers of our region—and the unique relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional homelands.
- The conversation starts at 6:30 p.m.; doors open at 6:00 p.m.
- Riverside Main Library Community Room
- 3900 Mission Inn Ave, Riverside
- FREE and open to the public.
