Melissa Hernandez,,

CSJPA is hosting a fundraising golf tournament on October 9, 2017, at the Canyon Crest Country Club. Registration opens at 9:30 with putting contests available until 11:00 when we have a shotgun start. Everyone will play "best ball" until they return to the Club House for dinner, drawings, and silent auction.

As you know, students get bullied every day. It is a growing cultural problem and California Schools JPA is on track to work with as many schools as possible to reduce the rising incidents associated with bullying behavior. Consequences of bullying range from poor performance in school and poor self-esteem to the extreme of suicide. Nearly 12 years ago, one of our team lost her granddaughter to suicide after she had been severely bullied in school. From that dark time, our Student Resiliency Golf Tournament was born.

All proceeds from our annual golf tournament go directly to our bullying prevention and student resiliency campaigns. In addition to preventing bullying from ever occurring, we are trying to build stronger, more confident students who will be less susceptible to the consequences of bullying. We have partnered with Safe School Ambassadors and Blanchard Institute to create need-specific programs to develop strength based cultures in schools; cultures where everyone's capacity is identified and nurtured toward positive change.
