    Current Situation

    On Sunday September 22, 2019 at 6:24 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Van Buren X Arlington for a vegetation fire adjacent to Walgreens Store.  Firefighters arrived to discover a vegetation fire burning in an arroyo in Hole Lake adjacent to Walgreens.  Walgreens was threatened by the flames along with onlookers attempting to video tape the fire.  A Security Officer assisted the fire department with evacuating the onlookers from the parking lot and closing off the parking lot.  Firefighters eliminated the structure threat to Walgreens Store.  Several transients were evacuating the arroyo upon arrival.  The fire was held to a ¼ acre.  Walgreens had a loss of approximately $5,000 to landscaping with a save of $1,000,000. 

    The Security Officer and Walgreens Manger had possible suspect information.  RPD assisted with suspect information.  After investigation of the fire caused was undetermined and no suspect was apprehended.
