    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on the 10500 block of Bingham Ave. The first arriving units reported smoke issuing from the front door of the home with the occupants having evacuated to the driveway.  It was quickly learned that there was possibly a family member left inside near or in the room involved.  The first arriving Engine Company changed tactical modes and effected the rescue and knocked down the fire.

The victim was found to the rear of the house with burns to his hands and face.  The victim was treated and transported to a local hospital for further treatment for the burns and smoke inhalation. A single Fire Fighter Paramedic assisted the AMR crew while enroute to the hospital and was later retrieved.

The crews remained on scene to completely extinguish the fire and to provide salvage and overhaul functions.  The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental by the fire investigators on scene.

No firefighters were injured during this incident.  The family has opted to stay with other family members in the area.
