Current Situation
On December 14th, 2022, at 4:36 AM, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a structure fire reported in the 10500 block of Burton Pl. The first arriving engine reported a working fire on the first floor of a two-story apartment building. The fire extended to a second-floor apartment unit. Burton command was established, and a second alarm response and three ambulances were requested to the scene. Fire department crews initiated an aggressive attack on the fire and completed a primary search of the building. There were three patients evaluated on scene, one patient was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries.
The fire was contained to the first and second story units. Five apartment units are unable to be occupied due to fire, smoke and water damage. The Red Cross was placed in contact with the property manager to assist with temporary housing assistance for the affected residents. The cause of the fire was undetermined.
