    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10:50 a.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 8300 Block of Camelia Drive.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a residential structure with an attached garage with fire coming from the garage.  Firefighters contained the fire to the garage and extinguished the fire. There was no one home at the time of the fire.

The department arson investigator investigated the fire and determined the probable cause of the fire to be electrical.  There were no firefighters or civilian injuries.  The residents returned to the structure along with the landlord.  The residence received smoke damage because of the fire.  The residence is not habitable.  The residents received Red Cross services and were taking shelter from family and friends.  There were three displaced adults.

The Riverside Police Department assisted with traffic control and during the fire, Adams Street had to be shut down in both directions of travel due to the hydrant supply line to the primary fire attack engine and the closest hydrant being on the other side of Adams Street.
