    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire on the 6000 block of Central Ave.  The first arriving units reported smoke showing from a front window.  The crews then deployed multiple hand lines and initiated an aggressive interior attack on the fire with a simultaneous primary search of any victims.  Truck company personnel ventilated the roof of the structure to increase the tenability of the structure for any victims and to increase visibility for the fire attack crew. The tactics employed kept the fire to the room of origin with some external damage to the structure.  The home did receive smoke damage throughout. The crews remained on scene to completely extinguish the fire and to complete salvage of undamaged furnishings.  There were no Firefighter or civilian injuries reported.  The family was issued a SAVE card and is receiving assistance through the Red Cross.
