Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a possible garage fire. Upon arrive we found four storage units that resemble garages well involved with fire. The building was within a cluster of older commercial structures. The crews initiated a defensive fire attack and extinguished the fire. There was a large amount of storage in each unit. The fire investigators responded and found the fire started in the last unit and the cause was accidental in nature. Overhaul commenced and the fire was mopped up. The owner arrived and was briefed on the situation. Once overhaul was complete units cleared the scene and the property was turned over to the owner.
Utilities responded to evaluate the overhead powerlines and high voltage transformers on site.
RPD provided traffic control as the supply line laid across Third St.
