    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On December 21st, 2024, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a brush fire reported at Hole Lake.  Fire department crews arrived and found approximately 1 acre burning near Doolittle Ave. in dense vegetation and multiple palm trees.  Crews made an aggressive attack on the fire and kept it contained to 1 acre.  The intense heat from the burning palm trees damaged nearby vehicles parked at an adjacent business.  The fire likely started at a nearby homeless encampment.  The cause of the fire was undetermined but most likely human related.  There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
