    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

At 1510 hours, on January 14, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 6600 block of Duke St.  The first arriving unit discovered heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear corner of the home.  Hose lines were deployed to the interior and exterior to control the fire.  Three occupants were home when the fire started, but were able to safely escape.  One party suffered a minor injury and was evaluated on scene by paramedics.  A fire investigtor was requested to determine the cause.  It appears the fire originated from a bathroom at the rear of the home.  Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced residents with temporary housing.  A Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency (SAVE) debit card was issued to the family to assist with short term needs.  No fire personnel were injured during the operation.
