    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

At 2143 hours on 12/30/2024, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 4000 block of Eileen St.  The first arriving unit found heavy smoke coming from the front door of a small, single-family home.  The residents had evacuated and were all accounted for.  Firefighters performed an aggressive interior attack on the fire and contained the fire to the front living room area.  A Fire Investigator responded and determined the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature.  An outlet near a Christmas tree arched, causing the tree to catch fire.  The fire caused extensive damage to the living room, and smoke damage to the rest of the home.

Red Cross responded to assist with temporary housing for 4 adults, 1 child, and two dogs.  One resident suffered a minor injury and was assessed by firefighter/paramedics on scene.
