    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On December 25, 2024, at approximately 1:05 a.m., the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched on a first alarm structure fire assignment to the CubeSmart Storage Facility at 4011 Fairgrounds Street following reports of a vehicle fire at the rear of the property.

Upon arrival, fire crews did not find a vehicle fire as initially reported. Instead, four storage units were found to be actively burning. Firefighters immediately initiated fire suppression efforts and conducted a preliminary investigation at the scene.

The cause of the fire could not be determined at the time of investigation. There were no signs of forced entry into the affected storage units, nor were any incendiary devices found.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the firefighting personnel. The on-duty shift investigator will follow up with the property manager to review any available security camera footage for further insights.

The alarm company was unable to establish contact with the property manager during the incident and has indicated plans to follow up with the manager the following morning.
