    On December 9, 2024, at 8:33 a.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 3500 Block of Holding St.  Firefighters upon arrival reported a working attic fire.  Firefighters performed fire attack and contained the fire to the attic space.  Firefighters were hampered by a second roof built upon the original roof with insulation. 

    There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.  The homeowner came to the scene and was informed the structure is not habitable with a request from Building and Safety to “Red Tag” the structure. The fire cause is unintentional.

    A total of 16 firefighters and one chief officer responded to the incident.
