Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 2500 Block of Jefferson Ave. The first arriving engine found a working fire in a large, single-story home. Fire was visible from the roof and the entire attic was involved. The home was unoccupied and in a state of renovation. Crews initially attempted an offensive, interior attack. However, due to deteriorating roof conditions, the decision was made to go defensive. Water was applied from the exterior and the fire was placed under control after approximately 1.5 hrs. Fire Investigators were on scene and were unable to determine a cause. The property owner arrived, and the building was turned over after all hazards were mitigated. There were no injuries reported.
