Current Situation
On Friday December 17, 2021 at 12:05 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 2500 block of Lime Street for reports of a residential structure fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to discover a working structure fire in the back two bedrooms of a residential structure. All occupants were able to evacuate the house prior to our arrival. One resident had attempted to go back into the house to retrieve family possessions prior to our arrival and had breathed in smoked. The adult resident was assessed on scene by fire department paramedics and was not transported.
The fire was contained to the back portion of the house. The electrical drop line was involved in the fire and had broke away from the house. RPU responded to the incident and secured the down power line.
There was a total of five adult residents displaced. The possible cause of the fire was a space heater in the room of origin. There were no other civilian injuries and no firefighter injuries. The family had refused Red Cross services and the family were planning on seeking shelter from family members. The family was given a California Fire Foundation SAVE Card. The save on the fire is estimated at $300,000 with a loss of $150,000.
