Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire next to a multi-family townhome at the Tuscan Townhomes in the 11500 block of Magnolia Ave. When the first due Engine Company arrived, they found a vehicle well involved in fire approximately 2 feet from a row of townhomes. The fire was close enough to the building to lap up onto a second story cornice, threatening the townhomes. Riverside City Firefighters were able to quickly deploy a hose line to prevent the fire from extending into the row of townhomes. With the use of firefighting foam, the fire was quickly knocked down. Riverside Firefighters remained on scene for approximately 45 minutes ventilating the adjacent garage, and mopping up the burned vehicle. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
