Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a dumpster on fire at the Mr. Taco 2 restaurant in the 2400 block of Main Street. When the first due Engine Company arrived on scene, they found a dumpster that was burning next to the back building and had extended into the building. The Captain immediately requested a full structure response. Firefighters were able to limit damage to the building to a portion of the wall and roof, but the interior did suffer damage from water and smoke. The main restaurant was not damaged by the fire and will be able to open for business as usual. The back building will remain closed pending an inspection by Riverside County Environmental Health. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries during the incident.
