Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire. Upon arrival, we found a detached single car garage fully involved with fire. We engaged in a defensive fire attack and extinguished the fire. The residence was check for occupants and was all clear. As the structure was boarded up and abandoned. The power line to the house was down in the street.
The property owner was notified and responded. Utilities was requested to handle the downed line and responded. RPD handled traffic control on Main St.
The fire investigators responded and deemed the fire started inside the vacant garage but undermined on the cause. The home owner stated they have had continual problems with transients trespassing and living inside the garage.
