On Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 4:13 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the Luck Greek located at 3887 Merrill Ave for reports of a Grease Fire.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find the restaurant had been evacuated and the manager had utilized a Class K Fire Extinguisher to extinguish a grease fire in a deep fryer.  Firefighters performed additional fire suppression for a hidden fire in the deep fryer.  There was no damage to the restaurant, expect for the deep fryer.

The restaurant was closed pending a Riverside County Health food inspection prior to re-opening due to the fire suppression agent used in close proximity with food handling.  There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.  A total of 17 firefighters and one chief officer responded.  Estimated loss is at $5,000 with a save of $1,000,000.
