Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported Structure Fire on the 3700 Block of Fillmore. The first arriving units reported heavy smoke issuing from a mobile home. The incident commander ordered an additional Engine Company to assist due to the elevated temperatures of the day which were recorded at 104 degrees. The fire was found to be well established in the rear portion of the home with both the building and contents burning. The fire was extinguished using a single 1.75” hose line on the interior of the home and a second identical line used to protect the exposed units adjacent to the fire. The fire was knocked down in approximately 20 minutes. The owner of the home was transported to a local hospital for mild smoke inhalation. Fire investigators were requested to assist with the cause of the fire which was deemed to be a failed air conditioner. Crews remained on scene for approximately 2 hours to completely extinguish the fire and pick up equipment.
