    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

At 1637 hours on Sunday, December 15, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of vegetation on fire in the area of Rancho Loma Park.  The first arriving unit found brush and trees burning along a fence that separated the park from a canal.  Fire personnel quickly extinguished the fire and limited property damage to a chain link fence and one palm tree.  Witnesses on scene reported watching a group of juveniles leave the area, and one witness had video/photo evidence of a possible suspect.  Riverside Fire Arson Investigators responded to collect evidence and interview witnesses.  The fire cause is currently under investigation.   There were no injuries to firefighters of civilians.
