The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle collision with fire at the intersection of Spruce Street and the 91 Freeway. Upon arrival, the first due Company Officer found a vehicle that had left the roadway at a high rate of speed, collided with a palm tree, and came to rest upside down and on fire in a drainage ditch. Riverside firefighters used a ladder to climb down to the vehicle and extinguish it. The driver, believed to be in her late twenties, was dead at the scene.
