    The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire. Upon arrival we found light smoke coming from the attic vents of a single story apartment. The apartment was a two story 8 unit apartment complex with a single story apartment on one end. Crews found fire in the walls of the kitchen and the fire spread into the attic. The fire was stopped in the attic of the single story apartment. During overhaul, we found the fire breach into the neighboring apartment and the apartment above. Fire extension was stopped and overhaul of the three units was completed. The investigation revealed the fire possibly started in the kitchen wall electrical outlet next to the stove. The occupant stated she saw smoke coming out of the outlet and the outlet above the stove. The clock for the stove was not displayed. She tried to call the manager for direction without a response. The smoke worsened and she call 911. The breakers in the electrical panel for the kitchen were tripped.

    Three families were displaced from their apartments due to the fire. A totla of 10 peopel. The property manager stated they will house them in another apartment or a hotel.

    There were no firefighter injured during this incident.
