Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 8400 block of Victoria. The first arriving engine reported a working fire in an attached garage. It was soon discovered that the fire had extended into the attic of the main structure. Crews performed an aggressive fire attack from the interior and the roof. 2 additional engines and a Breathing Support were requested. The home sustained major damage and there was extensive overhaul required due to the heavy fire load in the garage. The family was home at the time of the incident and had been notified of the fire by a passerby who came to the front door. The family escaped without injury and no injuries were reported to the fire crews. A SAVE (Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency) card was presented to the family to assist with any immediate, short-term support. The cause of the fire was undetermined following investigation.
