Current Situation
On Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 3:46 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm vegetation fire to the are of Washington X Victoria for a field on fire. The first due engine arrived on scene and immediately requested a second alarm. There was one immediate structure threat and the fire was bumping backyard fences of nine residential houses.
Firefighters aggressively worked to protect the residential homes and contain the fire. There was no damage to any of the residential homes. The fire was contained at 5.5 acres. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The fire was investigated by an arson investigator and the cause is undetermined after investigation.
RPD assisted with traffic control.
Washington and Victoria were closed to vehicle traffic for several hours and are fully back open.
