Current Situation
On Saturday August 22, 2020 at 11:07 a.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 8800 Block of Windmill for reports of a room on fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to discover light smoke coming from the residence and a fire in the laundry room coming from a vent fan. Firefighters performed Fire Attack and set-up the Incident Command System. Firefighters obtained fire knock down and primary search of the structure. The structure was ventilated.
There were no displaced residents. After fire investigation, the cause was determined to be the laundry room fan in the ceiling. The estimated loss is at $50,000 with a save of $600,000. The majority of the loss is due to smoke damage. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. A total of 17 Firefighters and one chief officer responded.
