(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of an injured hiker approximately 200 yards up the canyon from the main entrance of the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park. Upon arrival, Riverside City Firefighters found a 61 year old female with an open fracture to the left ankle. In order to get the injured woman out of the ravine, Riverside firefighters utilized rescue ropes and pulleys to reach the famale hiker. After stabilizing the hikers injuries, Riverside firefighters placed the patient in a rescue basket and carried her out of the ravine and down to the park entrance where she was transferred to an AMR crew. The patient was transported to an area hospital in moderate condition.
