    On Monday January 25, 2021 at 2:32 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 3500 Block of Eucalyptus.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a duplex with light grey smoke showing from the attic space.  The building was evacuated.  Firefighters performed a coordinated fire attack on the attic fire while salvaging and preserving the contents of the structure.  The fire was held to the attic space over one apartment.  Due to the damage to the electrical wiring and roof, the building is not habitable. 

    A total of 17 firefighters and one chief officer responded to the incident.  There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.  A total of three adults and four children were displaced.  The displaced residents refused Red Cross services and were seeking shelter with family members.  The displaced residents were each issued a California Fire Foundation SAVE Card. 

    The cause of the fire was undetermined after investigation with probable cause being electrical in the attic space.  The loss is estimated at $60,000 with a save of $250,000.  Due to the salvage efforts, there was no content loss.
