    City of Riverside Fire Department personnel responded to a large vacant commercial structure fire at 3141 9th Street in the City of Riverside.  The first arriving engine company reported a 2-story commercial structure fully involved with fire visible from all four sides of the building.  A defensive fire attack was initiated.  Battalion Chief Kodat arrived on scene, assumed Incident Command, and requested 2 additional engine companies as well as a second truck.  The building involved is approximately 40,000 square feet.  The fire was brought under control at 0920 hours.  A total of 5 engines, 2 trucks, 1 squad, and 3 Chief Officers responded to the incident.  Additionally, there are 3 Arson Investigators, 1 Safety Officer, 1 Public Information Officer, the Riverside Police Department, and a representative from the City of Riverside Emergency Operations Center on scene.  City of Riverside Fire Department crews have cleared the scene and released the property to the owner.
