Current Situation
On July 17th, 2021 at 5:42 P.M., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a traffic collision with possible extrication on the west bound 60 freeway at Market St. While units were en route, additional callers reported the vehicle was on fire. The first due engine reported one vehicle on fire with the surrounding vegetation burning. Additional fire department resources were requested, and mutual aid was provided by Cal Fire. There was one patient, the driver of the vehicle. The patient had self-extricated prior to our arrival and was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Fire department crews contained the fire at 1-acre with the assistance of two Cal Fire engine crews. The fire was placed under control at 6:07 P.M. There were not any firefighter injuries.
