Current Situation
On December 31, 2021 at 10;17 AM, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the 5800 block of Norwood. The first arriving engine company reported a travel trailer on the property was burning with immediate exposures. There was one patient with burn injuries due to the fire. Fire department crews made an aggressive attack and contained the fire to the building of origin. Fire department crews also provided advanced life support for the injured resident. The patient was transported to a local area hospital with moderate injuries. Riverside Fire Arson Investigators were on scene and determined the cause of the fire was accidental due to a leaking propane tank stored inside the building.
There were not any firefighter injuries reported. The Red Cross is providing assistance for two displaced residents.
