Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 0025 hours in the 6800 block of Mendocino Drive. The first arriving unit found a single story home with heavy smoke and fire coming from multiple sides of the structure. Firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack and search of the residence. The fire was brought under control at 0057 hours. The fire was contained to the building of origin and there were no other residences damaged. One person sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The cause of the fire was failure of electrical equipment. The dollar loss to the residence was $250,000 with a save of $200,000. There were no firefighter or other civilian injuries.
