Current Situation
On February 16th, 2022, at 10: 57 PM, the City of Riverside responded to a structure fire in the 4000 block of Elmwood Ct. Upon arrival the first due engine reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of a one-story house and a detached garage. Elmwood Command was established, and firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack. A primary search of the two buildings was completed. The occupant had evacuated prior to our arrival. The fire was placed under control at 11:30 PM. The fire was contained to the detached garage/secondary house and a back covered patio connected to the primary residence. The cause of the fire was undetermined but likely the due to an unattended candle. There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported. The Red Cross was requested for one displaced resident and a SAVE card has been issued.
