    *Final Update*

As of 1154 Hours on 6/30/2022, the leak has been stopped and all fire resources have been released.  Evacuation and Shelter-in-Place orders have also been lifted and residents are permitted to return home.  The Gas Co and Riverside Water will be on scene working in the 7800 Block of Evans for additional 4-5 hours.  Gas service to that area has been turned off to the homes and the Gas Co will restore service once they are completed.

The City of Riverside Fire Department is currently on the scene of a ruptured gas line in the 7800 block of Evans St.  Riverside Water was performing underground work when they ruptured an unmarked 3"-5" gas line.  Fire crews arrived on scene and evacuated Evans St between Jefferson and Grace.  An evacuation notice and a shelter-in-place message was sent via social media through the city Office of Emergency Services.  The Gas Co is currently woking on mitigating the leak and estimates to stop it are at 2-4 hours.  The BNSF rail line had been shut down for 1 hour but has reopened.  Engine 10 Captain is the Grace IC.  Updates will follow as we gather more information.
