Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department is currently on scene of a vegetation fire in the Santa Ana River Bottom North of Anza Narrows park. The fire originated in the County area and has spread into the City. Battalion 1 is in unified command with Cal Fire as the fire is a mutual threat to both jurisdictions. We have upgraded our response to a second alarm and have 4 engines, 2 brush units, and a water tender on scene as well to supplement the Cal Fire resources. The fire is 2-3 acres burning in heavy fuels with a slow rate of spread. Commitment time for our resources is 4-5 hours.
Update:
The fire remains active and still holding at 45 Acres. The fire activity has increased on the interior. A Helicopter was ordered for watering dropping.
Two additional city engines were ordered for Tactical Patrol Structure Protection of Old Mill and Grassy Trail for the neighborhood.
The incident name was changed from Anza to the Peralta Incident.
City of Riverside remains in unified command with CAL-Fire.
The bike path was closed from Bonamino Park to Van Buren.
RPU has been requested to the incident to start the Fire Hazard Mitigation Work for the RPU Powerlines and Powerline Road.

Update 7/22/2022 at 2245 Hours.
The Peralta Incident remains active with crews transitioning into Fire Watch Tactical Patrol throughout the night. Firefighters will be overhauling and mopping up the fire throughout the day tomorrow.
The cause of the fire is human related.
There are no firefighter or civilian injuries.
