Current Situation
At 0151 on 11/4/22 the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a potential structure fire in the area of Beatty Drive and De Anza. The first arriving unit found a working structure fire to the rear of the United States Post Office located at 3681 Sunnyside Drive. Firefighters made an aggressive fire attack and were able to contain the fire to one half of the post office building. The fire started to the rear of the business and extended in through a window into the interior. Along with the structure fire, there was a dumpster fire nest door, and a trash can on fire down the street near Big 5 sporting goods. An arson investigator was requested. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and further follow-up will take place today. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
