Current Situation
At 2136 on December 18th the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the area of Van Buren and Morris. Our communications center received numerous calls with reports of a commercial building on fire. The first arriving unit found a commercial yard on fire in the 6600 bock of View Park Ct. with extension into the building. Firefighters immediately began an aggressive fire attack from both sides of the business and were able to keep the fire contained to the property of origin. The fire was brought under control at 2245. The affected business manufactures and stores stuffed animals for children. The loss was estimated at $1,500,000 to the building and contents with a save of $3,000,000. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries and the cause is still under investigation.
