FINAL REPORT:
On February 19, 2023, at 4:54 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 2000 block of 5th St. Firefighters arrived to discover a working attic fire in a single-story residential structure. Firefighters performed an aggressive fire attack while salvaging interior contents of the house. A primary and secondary search was conducted with no occupants found in the house.
There was a total of seven displaced residents, four adults and three children. Red Cross responded to the incident to provide shelter to the displaced residents. The determination of the fire was electrical accidental in nature. The estimated property loss is $200,000 with a save of $250,000.
There were no injured firefighters and no injured civilians. The property was turned over to the home-owner upon conclusion of the incident. The house was unhabitable.
Intiial Report:
The City of Riverside Fire Department is currently on the scene of a structure fire in the 2000 block of 5th Street.
First arriving crews noted a working attic fire. An aggressive fire attack has been initiated. Battalion 1 Vanderhorst is the 5th Street IC, and units will be committed for approximately 2.0 hours.
