Current Situation
On Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 10:39 a.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire in the Santa Ana River Bottom just north of Mile Marker 67 on the SART Trail, situated to the north of Ryan Bonaminio Park and south of the Carlson Dog Park. The incident originated in a homeless camp and encompassed 1/8 of acre with two complicated large eucalyptus trees. A total of one chief officer and 13 firefighters responded to the incident. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire is undetermined after investigation. There were no witnesses to the fire.
