Current Situation
On March 24, 2024, at 6:03 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department dispatched a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 4700 Block of Windsor for reports of structure fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to encounter a working attached garage fire of a single-family residential structure. Firefighters made an aggressive fire attack and held the fire to the garage with no fire extension into the living quarters of the residence. Firefighters were able to rescue one dog from the garage. Firefighters were able to revive the rescued dog using a pet animal oxygen mask. Unfortunately, two dogs perished in the fire in the garage. Animal control responded to the fire and aided. RPD assisted with scene control.
There were no firefighters or civilian injuries. The fire was undetermined after investigation by department arson investigator, but accidental in nature. There was a total of five displaced adults.
