FINAL UPDATE:
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 8400 block of Yarrow Lane. Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy fire conditions in the attached garage of a two-story home. Crews acted quickly to extinguish the fire and ensure the safety of all occupants and pets. Despite significant damage to the garage, firefighters managed to prevent the spread to the rest of the house. The interior of the home sustained minimal fire damage and limited smoke damage.
With the assistance of Arson Investigators, the cause was determined to be faulty electrical wiring. Riverside Police Department provided support with traffic control. Due to the home being uninhabitable due to lack of electricity, temporary lodging was arranged with the assistance of The Red Cross. Nineteen firefighters spent one hour and thirty minutes extinguishing the fire, conducting overhaul operations, and determining the cause and origin. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to firefighters or the four civilian occupants.
