    On May 28th,, 2024, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a brush fire reported inside Sycamore Canyon Park near Sycamore Canyon Blvd. and Cottonwood.  Fire Department crews arrived on scene and found a large orange glow inside the park.  Crews made access and found a brush fire burning with a slow rate of spread.  An aggressive attack on the fire was made and it was contained to 1 acre.  The fire started at a homeless encampment, likely from an unattended campfire.  The cause of the fire was human related.  There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
