On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 10:48 a.m., dispatch a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 2900 Block of 13th St.  Firefighters arrived to discover a single-story multi-family dwelling residence with heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of the residence with a working attic fire and multiple fires burning in mulch from the ember casting from the palm trees.  Firefighters received reports of a possible missing adult female from the occupants who had escaped the residence.

Firefighters performed an aggressive fire attack coordinated with ventilation along with a primary search of the residence.  A secondary search was performed with no occupants or pets located within the house.  Riverside Public Utilities assisted by disconnecting the power to the residence.  AMR provided standby ALS coverage.  RPD assisted with traffic control along with incident scene control.  A total of 31 personnel responded to the incident.  There were no firefighters or civilian injuries.

A total of 10 occupants were displaced, nine adults and one toddler.  The Red Cross responded to the scene and were assisting.  A California Foundation Save Card was issued to the primary homeowner.   11 dogs and one cat were able to escape the fire and were not injured.

A fire arson investigator responded to the incident and investigated.   The fire cause was undetermined after investigation but originated on the front porch.

The residence was turned over to the homeowner.
