(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On January 13, 2025, at approximately 1:20pm, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the area of Magnolia and Buchanon. The first arriving Engine Captain reported a wind driven, large exterior fire with immediate threat to the two adjacent commercial buildings. The fire was located between 12201 Magnolia and 12155 Magnolia.

Crews quickly positioned hoselines to protect the two adjacent commercial occupancies. A total of 6 Engines, 3 Trucks, 1 Squad, 3 Chief Officers, and 3 Overhead Captains assisted in the operation.

The fire damaged several shipping containers, a cell phone tower, and outside stacked manufactured storage items. One of the commercial occupancies suffered some minor heat damage.

Crews were committed to the incident for approximately 2.5 hours. There were no reported injuries to fire personnel.

One minor civilian injury was reported. Crews responded to an adjacent mobile home park where a civilian suffered a fall injury while attempting to wet down and protect their property. The civilian injury was transported to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Arson investigators on scene are reporting the fire as suspicious in nature and currently under investigation.
