The City of Riverside Fire Department promoted five of its highly qualified personnel Friday morning. Captain Steve McKinster was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief in Battalion I. Battalion Chief McKinster will supervise the personnel at the fire stations that serve the neighborhoods of the Eastside, Downtown, Northside, University, and Canyon Crest areas.

Engineers Ray Mendoza and Mike Estrada were both promoted to the rank of Fire Captain. Captain Mendoza will be responding out of the La Sierra South Fire Station. He also serves as an Arson Investigator on the City of Riverside Arson Task Force. Captain Estrada will be assigned to the Magnolia Center Fire Station, as well as the Technical Rescue Team.

Firefighters Mark Thompson and Denise Delgado (not available for the photograph) were both promoted to the rank of Fire Engineer. Engineer Thompson will be operating the fire engine out of the University Fire Station and Engineer Delgado will be assigned to the Arlanza Fire Station.

Fire Chief Steve Earley proudly pinned the promotional badges on each of the beaming fire personnel. He shared with the group that the opportunity to promote personnel who are highly qualified and dedicated to exceeding our customers' expectations is one of the most rewarding duties of his position as the Fire Chief.
