Cheryl-Marie Hansberger

Dr. Cheryl-Marie Hansberger

Chief of Staff

Responsibilities: Cheryl-Marie is responsible for managing the daily operations in the Mayor’s office, from strategy through implementation.

Education: Cheryl-Marie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis on College Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne.

Passion: Mentoring first generation and under-represented students, because everybody deserves a break in life.

Dr. Lalit Acharya

Dr. Lalit Acharya

International Relations Officer

Responsibilities: Lalit directs and manages the Mayor’s efforts on international initiatives, economic development, and sustainability.

Education: Lalit has a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, a Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Doctorate in Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Southern California. He is also a 2004 Leadership Riverside graduate.

Passion: Urban planning, writing, and most importantly, spending time with his family.

Kathy Young

Kathy Young

Administrative Assistant to the Mayor

Responsibilities: Kathy is instrumental in keeping the Office of the Mayor running smoothly. She is responsible for managing Mayor Bailey’s calendar, the budget, and the office’s procurement. Kathy also coordinates special events for the office and is the point person for the Connect with the Mayor “walk events”. She coordinates several of the Mayor’s taskforces, including the Education Roundtable and the Purple City Alliance, an effort to ensure Riverside is dementia friendly.

Education: Kathy has an Associates of Science in Math and Science from Golden West College

Passion: Her family and her grandchildren.

Cheryl Wills

Cheryl Wills

Senior Office Specialist

Responsibilities: Cheryl Wills has several years of administrative experience supporting business owners. She is responsible for coordinating special events, such as Coffee with the Mayor. She maintains the front office, coordinates reservations for meeting rooms, and manages requests for certificates and proclamations.

Education: Studied at Riverside City College and plans to work toward a degree in Business Administration.

Passion: Helping others whenever possible.

elizabeth Pinney-Muglia

Liz Pinney-Muglia

Program and Policy Coordinator

Responsibilities: Liz is a liaison between the Mayor’s Office and several boards, commissions, and community groups, including Human Relations Commission, Multicultural Forum, Riverside Youth Council, Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful, and The Group. She also conducts policy research, helps organize events and community interaction, supervises intern projects, and manages the Mayor's social media pages and incoming constituent emails. Liz is the field representative for the Office of the Mayor in wards 4, 5, 6 and 7, so say hello if you see her out and about!

Education: Liz earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a concentration in History from Indiana University and a Master of Public Administration from Villanova University.

Passion: Supporting, nurturing and empowering children to be self-assured and ready to take on the world as responsible and civic-minded adults.

Edward Coronado

Edward Coronado

Assistant to the Mayor

Responsibilities: Edward serves as the liasison between the Office of the Mayor and several boards including: Human Relations Commission, Riverside Sport Hall of Fame, Multicultural Forum, and the Latino Network. He also assist's with Mayor Bailey's Love Your Neighbor initiative to address homelessness in Riverside. Edward is the Mayor's primary Field Representative in all wards.

Education: Edward earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside. He plans to pursue a Master of Public Policy in the near future.

Passion: Practicing his faith through servant leadership, spending time with family, watching sports, and eating good food with great company.

Kaitlyn Statham

Administrative Intern

Responsibilities: Kaitlyn is the Administrative Intern for the Office of the Mayor. She is responsible for managing the office's Communication's Plan and running online community outreach campaignsShe also provides support for the Mayor’s faith-based homelessness initiative.

Education: Kaitlyn has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a minor in Humanities from California Baptist University, and is currently working on her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management at California Baptist University. She will graduate in Spring 2020.

Passion: Learning and empowering others. When she is not studying, Kaitlyn enjoys adventuring outdoors with her dog.
