East Side of Heritage House

Cast-iron benches, urns, and other garden ornamentation are all duplicates of examples found of Riverside gardens of the late nineteenth century. They were acquired from a firm that was producing these very same designs over one hundred years ago.

The plaque on side of the house dedicates this project to it original restoration specialist, Carl Fowler, who set a standard for perfection that we strive to maintain. The commitment to period accuracy at Heritage House has been made possible only through an enormous amount of public support.

The Riverside Museum Associates donated the substantially restored property to the City of Riverside in 1974. Subsequent improvements have been possible with the assistance of the City, the Museum Associates, and innumerable generous volunteers and donors.

Heritage House has been open for regularly scheduled tours since 1977.
