The City of Riverside Police Department offers bicycle safety classes that can be customized for any age. The curriculum includes the laws and safety practices for biking, skateboarding, in-line skating and motorized scooters. The programs focus on not only learning traffic laws but understanding the reasoning behind the laws.

These classes are geared towards juveniles ages 6 to 18 and are offered in February, May, August, and November. Class run 1.5 to 2 hours in length, and require that the parents accompany their children. Helmets are available to children at a reduced rate.
These classes are geared towards neighborhood or community groups and clubs. The class can be customized to meet the needs of the group.
These classes are available to schools located within the City of Riverside. Safety presentations can be for a classroom or for a school-wide assembly. Schools that participate in safety presentations are eligible to offer low cost helmets to students.
